David Edgemon RV-8 · · PAGE 3.

December 6, 2009: I asked David to pose in front of his airplane.  I was focused on how he tied his foam blocks in the engine cooling air inlets to his fuel vent line covers made from clear tubing.  Notice the cowl with carburetor intake since this airplane is fuel injected.

David is very happy with the way his cowl alignment matches the back plate of the spinner.  That was what he was telling me when I snapped this closer photo of him.

Here are two views of the cowl and spinner to prove his statement.

This view from the right front shows more of the lines connecting to the fuel vent line covers.

One of the local pilots had seen David landing the other day and remarked the RED/WHITE rotating spinner paint scheme drew more attention than the strobe light.

Dave printed two of these fuel cap labels on his laser printer using decal paper.  The fuel cap had a white paint base coat on it before he applied the wet decal to it.  When it dried, he put on a coat of clear coat paint.

The other neat label on the airplane is this flap angle indicator label on the left flap.  This is a clear vinyl label he had made at a local print shop.  Dave designed it on his computer and provided a PDF file to the print shop.
