QRF Replacements for SEP variable equalizers.

The QLX Family of fixed equalizers were originally developed as an equivalent to the the Jerrold EQ450 which was first used in the JLX line extender and SX trunk stations.  This family of EQs has been extended to 860 MHz today and is used in mini-bridgers, BLEs and BTD modules.  QRF created the QEP-ADP equalizer adapter board for the SCD-2W chassis to replace the SEP variable equalizers.  The advantage is lower insertion loss, lower cost and better RF linearity.  With no adjustments, there is no possibility of incorrect alignment.

All models from QLX330 to QLX450 equalizers come in values from 0 to 30 dB in 2 dB increments.  QLX500 and QLX550 are available in values from 2 to 24 dB.  All QLX fixed equalizers have an insertion loss of 1 dB or less at the rated frequency.  With this lower insertion loss it is possible to remove an SEP455-ST equalizer with a typical insertion loss of 2.6 dB and replace it with a 500 MHz QLX fixed EQ and get the bandwidth in exchange for the reduction in equalizer loss.   This of course requires the SJ-450B trunk modules to be modified to 500 MHz or use of QRF replacement trunk modules QSP or QMP.
