David Edgemon - Finishing Everything!

July 10, 2004: This is the back of the two-car garage/aircraft assembly shop with the paint shop added on to the back.  Notice the three air filters and the way the whole thing is shrouded in plastic inside the wooden frame that supports the simple corrugated plastic roof.

This view from the west side of the paint shop shows more vents and I later discovered two cheap box fans inside the double air filters shown here.  And with the east wall plastic "door" opened, you can see some of the work in progress in the photo below.  You can see the fans in the shot below.

And here is David getting ready to wet sand with 2000 grit sand paper on the other aileron.  I was amazed at what happened next!

This aileron was painted when the outside temperature was about 10 degrees F lower than his usual paint sessions.  As a result, he had some paint drips/runs, etc.   This is the shot before sanding the aileron.

And here is the shot after sanding with 2000 grit sand paper.  After this, he buffed and polished the surfaces and talk about a shine.  All that surface that appears to be a flat finish became glossy!

Right after this photo was taken, it started to rain and our meeting came to a conclusion.

David moves the airplane to his Hangar at Moontown Airport.
